SINGAPORE - United States President Barack Obama called Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore on Tuesday to congratulate him and the People's Action Party on their success at the General Election, the White House said in a statement.
Mr Obama underscored his admiration for Singapore's achievements, particularly this year as Singapore celebrates its 50th birthday.
The statement, released on Wednesday and citing Mr Obama's press secretary, said that the two leaders also discussed ongoing cooperation on critical issues of mutual interest, including concluding the Trans-Pacific Partnership and addressing regional security.
