Why politics?

I joined the party in 2011 because I believe in the SDP ideals of democracy. I want to make a difference in improving the well-being of people.

Why you?

The question should be: "Why not?" I'm proud to be Singaporean and I don't see why I should be sitting down and waiting for somebody else to improve the lives of Singaporeans when I believe I can do it.

What issues will you focus on?

I've always had a passion for helping vulnerable people. I'm a nurse by training and have seen how healthcare policies impact patients both inside and outside hospitals. In many cases, voluntary welfare organisations try to fill the gaps when people fall through the cracks. But I believe I can have a greater impact as a voice in Parliament because I can influence policies, which will affect many people at one time.

Favourite spot in Singapore?

There isn't really any place in particular but I love nature and the outdoors, so maybe somewhere like Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
