30,000 appointed as election officials

The officers, including from statutory boards and ministries, are being trained for poll duties

The Elections Department (ELD) has started training public officers for election duties, with 30,000 of them having been appointed as election officials.

The Straits Times understands that they include officers from various ministries and statutory boards.
