I hear the chatter of the dining hall, snippets of conversation flowing towards the walkway where the coffee machines are.

As I get closer, I hear the churn of the coffee machine as it roars to life, the sputter as the nozzle chugs out milky microfoam, the frothy white rising in the cup, and finally the golden rush of brown – the aroma of the beans hanging in the air, the familiar acidity almost on my tongue.
