Would electric vehicles (EVs) ever work in Singapore? This was a key question EV observers like myself asked when the Energy Market Authority and Land Transport Authority (LTA) first launched an EV trial in 2011, to decide whether such vehicles could be rolled out for mass adoption.
That marked the beginning of Singapore’s EV transition. If it was a child growing up, 2011 would’ve been its birth year.
