In my almost three decades of experience dealing with capital markets practitioners, I have observed a gradual trend relating to the sluggish state of our Singapore capital markets. If left uncorrected, I fear that Singapore may run the risk of losing its position as a financial services and capital markets hub.

Having just returned from a series of investor meetings in North America, I heard investors lament the low trading volumes and lack of liquidity that constrain valuation potential.
