I was sad to hear that Woh Kee, a famous traditional coffee roaster in Ipoh, closed down in June, after 80 years of business over three generations. And so the world’s former tin mining capital has lost yet another part of its scrumptious inheritance.

Our hearts sink whenever venerable food businesses close down. The collective memories of our palates sigh over a fond slice of life that we’ll never savour again.
