Into his fourth month as president, Mr Prabowo Subianto has cut an interesting figure on the Asian stage.

During restricted-level talks with his host Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, in New Delhi as chief guest at India’s Jan 26 Republic Day parade, remarked that the biggest modern Hindu Murugan temple to the east of India would soon be consecrated in Jakarta, and he planned to be present at the event.
A delighted Mr Modi responded enthusiastically that, if this was the case, he would himself attend the ceremony online.
