On April 21, Chinese President Xi Jinping unveiled a grand new plan for global security at the Boao Forum for Asia.
It is the first time Mr Xi has made such a proposal to "promote security for all the world", as he put it. Unsurprisingly, it has had analysts trying to decipher what his Global Security Initiative (GSI) meant for the great power rivalry with the United States.
