As Singapore prepares its young people to enter the workforce of the future – a future in which both technical and academic skills may be equally important – here is something to ponder.

Earlier in October, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced plans to merge the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level and Technical Level qualifications into a single qualification known as the Advanced British Standard (ABS), targeted at 16- to 18-year-olds.
