About two weeks ago, a viral Reddit post about a Singaporean e-hailing driver who told a passenger he regretted his decision to migrate from Malaysia struck a chord with me.

According to the passenger’s now-deleted post, the driver said he believed he would now have to work for the rest of his life to cope with rising daily expenses and save enough for retirement.
