It’s Tuesday morning in Singapore, and I am waiting for my weekly video call from my 28-year-old daughter in a time zone 15 hours away, in California. She’s getting ready to cook her dinner and wants to consult me.
I’m not complaining. In fact, I’m thrilled to provide this long-distance support. And the reason I can provide this mid-week, mid-morning assistance is because I have voluntarily moved to a part-time work schedule after a decade of nine-to-five workdays as a pharmaceutical scientist in Singapore.
