, March 5). An example of a safety risk cited was that if a caged deck is locked from the outside and the lorry is involved in an accident or fire, workers may not be able to escape.

If it is deemed that transporting workers in this manner is dangerous, then why give companies until January 2027 to comply? Human lives are at stake. This should be acted on immediately. A lorry is designed to transport goods in the first place, not human beings. Safety cannot be compromised for convenience or cost reasons.

When it comes to protecting lives, we should not go soft on implementing firm and decisive actions.
