Forum: Too many posters in MRT stations

There are many posters placed strategically inside the MRT stations in Singapore – ranging from reminders to give up seats to the needy to the usual “No Smoking, Eating or Drinking” signage.
One particular sign caught my eye some time back. It depicts a male cartoon character taking an upskirt photo or video of a female character on an escalator, accompanied by a solemn warning stating “Taking upskirt photos or videos is a crime” and the penalty for such a crime.
Is this felony not obvious enough? There are a thousand and one crimes. Do we need posters that declare that stabbing someone, arson, burglary and rioting are all crimes?
We are likely to run out of wall space before we can highlight every offence.
There are already too many posters inside train stations. Coupled with the incessant station and train announcements, commuters are overwhelmed by external stimuli.
Most train commuters are also too engrossed in their digital devices to read posters or listen to announcements. Sad to say, a person hell-bent on taking upskirt photos would not be deterred by them either.
