Congratulations to the National Library Board (NLB) on its 30th anniversary.

Over the years, I have visited different public libraries. They are easily accessible by train or bus, with some branches at shopping malls or community clubs. Their shelves are clean and neatly arranged in rows.
Each public library has its unique decor and exhibitions. NLB has also recently come up with a pop-up library at Changi Airport and an ongoing national exhibition which uses immersive storytelling and generative artificial intelligence to attract more visitors and loans. Its programmes are suitable for young and old.
Singapore is lucky to have wonderful libraries across the island. I urge patrons to cultivate responsibility and take good care of library items, and return them on time to allow others to have equal chances of borrowing them.
Thank you, NLB. You do a great job of making us a learned nation with great accessibility to the walls of knowledge.
