We are sorry that the writer and her family did not receive the support they needed during their visit to the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM). We recognise that such an experience can be discouraging, particularly when a visitor is seeking a quiet and supportive space.
ACM & Me, the museum’s dedicated children’s activity space, operates a timed-entry system on weekends to provide a safe and comfortable experience for visitors. The Calm Corner, located within ACM & Me, is a sensory-friendly space intended for visitors who need a quiet break. It does not require a booking and has no time limit.
We have since clarified this with our front-line teams and will strengthen staff training on our access guidelines and facilities. We will also continue to equip our staff to recognise and respond to the diverse needs of visitors with care and sensitivity.
The National Heritage Board and ACM are committed to making our museums welcoming, accessible and safe for all visitors. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome the writer and her family back to ACM.
