I believe that incorporating traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) into Healthier SG is a pragmatic move ( Traditional Chinese medicine could play a role in Healthier SG: Ong Ye Kung
Many patients seek alternative treatment from TCM as their medical problems are not well addressed at the polyclinics or hospitals.
I am a TCM practitioner. In my view, problems linked to ageing such as aches, pains and those related to sleep could be better dealt with using TCM rather than Western medicine.
Acupuncture and herbal medicine can be used to address tightness in the neck and lower back, and improve blood circulation.
TCM treatments can not only provide relief, but also help prevent many chronic issues.
Effective TCM treatments will not only help patients avoid subsequent referrals and examinations, but also reduce medical expenses in the form of subsidies and insurance claims.
As the saying goes: “It doesn’t matter if the cat is white or black, as long as it can catch mice, it is a good cat.”
