The case of Malone Lam Yu Xuan, 20, is a cautionary tale for young people navigating the digital world (In 7 years, student from Choa Chu Kang went from gamer to alleged role in $320m crypto heist, March 16).

Lam’s downfall wasn’t due to a lack of talent – his digital skills were remarkable, but he allegedly chose the wrong path, instead of using his abilities for good. Had he applied his skills ethically, he might have been a rising star in the tech industry instead of an accused fraudster.

Today’s young are more tech-savvy than ever, but skills without ethics is a dangerous mix. The real challenge isn’t just acquiring skills. It’s using them wisely.
