Forum: Motorcyclists using walkways to bypass carpark gantry

In my residential area, I have noticed that some motorcyclists are gaining access to the HDB carpark illegally, by bypassing the carpark gantry at the entrance.
Instead, they ride on pedestrian pathways around the carpark, and then into the carpark. Such acts pose a safety risk to residents using the pedestrian pathways, especially fragile seniors or young children.
At the same time, these motorcyclists are not paying the parking fees.
HDB should act firmly to eradicate such illegal acts. Installing CCTV cameras in the area will deter such errant riders and will also provide evidence against the rider if a report has been made by the public.
I believe these are not isolated cases as there are many HDB carparks across the entire island. I hope the relevant authorities will note this feedback and act to stop the practice.
