In today’s digital age, the ease of recording and sharing videos has made it simpler for people to capture and disseminate moments from their daily lives.

However, this has also led to instances where footage of people is shared online without their knowledge or consent.

This can be distressing for those involved and may also have unintended consequences.

While these videos may not capture any illicit or malicious activity, they still threaten an individual’s right to privacy.

I am particularly concerned about the increasing prevalence of videos recorded in MRT trains and buses.

I urge the authorities to consider making it an offence to record and upload videos of individuals on public transport without their consent, even if the content is seemingly innocuous. This would help protect commuters’ privacy.
