I commend FairPrice for its initiative to help shoppers stretch their dollar (FairPrice shoppers to get $8 voucher for every $100 spent from Feb 5 to 16, Feb 5). Not realising the scheme was on, I was pleasantly surprised recently to receive a voucher from FairPrice Xtra at Jurong Point.
However, the $100 minimum spend may be out of reach for some customers. Ironically, these are the shoppers who most need help stretching their dollar.
To make such schemes more accessible, I suggest lowering the minimum spend to $25 and offering a $2 return voucher. This small tweak would make a good initiative even better.
