Forum: Perhaps, life’s purpose is found in the smaller things

I’ve been trying from a young age to figure out what my purpose is.

However, in Secondary 3 now, the more I think about it, the less clear it becomes. People always talk about their dreams and ambitions, and sometimes it feels like everyone else has a purpose figured out while I’m still searching for mine.

My parents say my purpose right now is to be a student. My relatives say my purpose is to be a good sister and daughter. My friends say it’s to do what I want in life. Is my purpose to do well in school? Is it a future career I need to pursue? Is it a hidden calling waiting to be discovered?

What I’m realising, though, is that purpose doesn’t have to be something huge or permanent. It doesn’t always come in one clear moment.

It’s found in the smaller things – spending time with the people I love, helping others, or doing what makes me feel fulfilled in the present. Maybe purpose isn’t one big thing I’m meant to do, but a series of moments that add up over time.

I’m still not sure what my life’s true purpose is, and that’s okay. Right now, I’m learning to embrace the uncertainty and focus on what feels meaningful now. Hopefully, over time, my purpose will come into focus.
