I would like to give accolades to the National Library Board for its recent pre-loved books giveaway ( NLB to offer 60,000 pre-loved books in largest giveaway
Visitors were given only 10 minutes to grab their favourite books. We had to queue for an hour and be admitted in batches to avoid bottlenecks.
Despite the overwhelming response, the library staff were polite and controlled the crowd seamlessly.
Visitors, too, were patient and queued in an orderly fashion.
I hope NLB will consider having the giveaway annually and hold it in other library branches.
