Forum: Have standard, reusable design for attire worn at community events

It is common to see political leaders attending community events, along with the organisers, in newly designed attire created specifically for that occasion.
While organisers may feel that each event warrants a unique look, this practice contradicts the sustainability goals that the Government is actively pursuing.
Singapore repeatedly encourages the public to reduce, reuse and recycle. These principles should apply not only to household habits, but also to the way people present themselves at community events.
By reusing existing attire or adopting a standard, reusable design, event organisers and leaders could set a stronger example and demonstrate genuine commitment to sustainable practices.
I urge policymakers to consider guidelines or recommendations that discourage unnecessary production of single-use event apparel. Small changes like this could send a powerful signal and move Singapore closer to the sustainable future it aspires to build.
