Forum: Install dedicated liquid waste outlet at tray return stations

I would like to highlight a practical improvement that can be made to the tray return stations commonly found in hawker centres, foodcourts and eateries.
Currently, most do not have a dedicated liquid waste outlet. This means that leftover drinks, melted ice and other liquids are often discarded together with solid food waste.
Not only does this create a mess, but it also makes the waste bags significantly heavier and more difficult for cleaners to manage.
Installing a simple liquid waste drain or receptacle at these stations would allow diners to pour out any remaining beverage before returning their trays.
This change may seem small, but it offers meaningful benefits. It will reduce spillage and sticky messes and allow for better waste segregation to support sustainability efforts.
I hope the relevant authorities and foodcourt operators will consider this suggestion.
