As we step into 2025, I cannot help but reflect on the pressures of growing up and the constant question: “What do you want to do or be in life?” For many of us, it feels like a decision we must make early on, even though life does not always follow a straight path.
I remember the uncertainty during my teenage years, watching everyone else seemingly have their futures mapped out, while I struggled to find my own direction. The pressure to make decisions that could impact the rest of my life was overwhelming. But as I have grown older, I have come to realise that it is fine to not have everything figured out immediately. The challenge is learning to trust that it is okay to not have the answers and gently reminding myself of that truth when the weight of uncertainty feels a little too heavy.
Growing up is about discovering who we are, learning from mistakes and giving ourselves the freedom to change our minds. Success does not require a perfect plan but the courage to embrace uncertainty and grow with each experience.
I hope we can ease the pressure we place on ourselves. Let us embrace the unknown, take things one step at a time and be kinder to ourselves. 2025 should be about growth, patience and self-compassion.
