I fell in the train near Yew Tee MRT station on Aug 31 at about 3.30pm, fracturing my elbow. My nose was also bleeding heavily.

A young woman rushed forward to help me. She cleaned up the blood, told me to sit and breathe through my mouth, and pressed the emergency button to alert MRT staff. When someone asked if she was travelling with me, she replied that she had come over from another carriage to help.

The train continued to Choa Chu Kang station, where staff placed me in a wheelchair and called for an ambulance. The young woman stayed with me all the way to the station office, her hands still stained with blood, and did not leave until I was taken to hospital.

In my shock and pain, I managed only a “thank you” and did not get her name. I hope she reads this and knows how grateful I am. While other passengers looked on, she alone stepped forward.

I would like to thank her for her courage and compassion. Her selfless act deserves recognition.
