, Jan 11). Small adjustments like turning off unused appliances at the socket, using a hot water flask instead of an electric air-pot and switching to energy-efficient appliances can make a significant difference; not just for the planet but also for your wallet.

Under the Climate Friendly Households Programme, every Housing Board household can claim $300 in climate vouchers to purchase energy- and water-efficient products. This initiative empowers families to adopt sustainable habits, reduce utility bills, and lower their carbon footprint.

In the upcoming Budget 2025, I hope the climate vouchers can be extended to all households, including those living in private housing.

The responsible stewardship of our scarce resources requires a collective effort, involving all households living in public and private housing alike. By making this programme inclusive, we can encourage a whole-of-community approach to sustainability and ensure that everyone contributes to a greener and more energy-efficient future.

Sustainability is a shared responsibility, and every household has a role to play. Let’s work together to make energy-conscious living a norm.
