Forum: Employers encouraged to provide cold water for workers

We thank Ms Tahirah Rebekah Koshy for her letter and concern for outdoor workers (Give heat-safe water bottles to those working in hot sun, April 20). 

We agree with Ms Koshy’s suggestion, and encourage employers to provide such heat-safe and durable bottles to keep water cool for workers engaged in intense physical work.

Employers are also encouraged to adopt good practices, such as providing cold water, an ice maker or ice slurry machine at the rest area for workers.
