We thank Mr Zainal Abdul Karim for his suggestions to enhance the Electronic Road Pricing 2.0 on-board unit (OBU) display ( Consider displaying more traffic information on OBUs
Since the launch of the OBU, we have introduced several enhancements, including speed camera zone alerts and flood alerts, as well as a payment feature for missed ERP charges to be made directly via the OBU.
On Nov 26, we began rolling out traffic incident alerts through the OBU. For a start, the OBU will display real-time traffic updates on incidents along expressways and slip roads. These alerts will be progressively expanded to other roads in the coming months.
We will also explore the suggestion to display speed limits for all roads as part of our continuing efforts to introduce more useful OBU features for motorists.
To date, 87 per cent of vehicles in Singapore have installed the OBU. We encourage the remaining motorists to make an appointment for their OBU installation as soon as practicable.
