We refer to Phoen Tiem Lay’s Forum letter “Time to strip back opaque petrol pricing and mandate net display” (Sept 16).
The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) recognises that motorists may find petrol prices confusing, as what they pay is often different from what is listed.
This is why CASE introduced the fuel comparison feature via our price transparency mobile application, Price Kaki.
Through Price Kaki, consumers can create a personalised fuel profile by selecting their preferred credit card, loyalty programmes and by choosing the type of petrol they pump.
Price Kaki will then compute the nett fuel price after factoring relevant discounts and promotions, letting motorists better compare which fuel retailer best suits their needs.
Price Kaki also lets motorists track fuel price movements across retailers.
Since CASE launched Price Kaki in 2019, over 218,000 users have downloaded the application.
We encourage all motorists to use Price Kaki to compare prices of fuel, groceries, and cooked food and drinks, to make informed purchasing decisions.
