Forum: Consider displaying more traffic information on OBUs

I hope the Land Transport Authority (LTA) can consider having the next-generation Electronic Road Pricing on-board unit (OBU) display the speed limit of all roads a vehicle is passing through in real time.

This would be helpful as the speed limit signs on many roads are not always easily visible.

Currently, the OBU displays speed limits for roads in school vicinities, silver zones and where there are speed cameras, along with information on bus lanes.

I also suggest that the OBU include information alerting drivers to any congestion due to heavy traffic and accidents within a 5km radius. Traffic updates are already broadcast on the radio, but only at certain intervals.

Such information would be useful for drivers to keep their driving speed in check and avoid congested roads, giving them time to take an alternative route.
