I read with interest the article “Coffee shop toilets found to be the dirtiest in SMU study of 2,600 public loos”  (Feb 3).

As most coffee shops are located in HDB precincts and neighbourhood centres where the population density is higher, users of such toilets are not only those who patronise the coffee shops, but also customers of nearby shops with no public toilets.

Given the high number of users and the limited number of toilet facilities, maintaining cleanliness poses a real challenge.
