I am writing to express my concern regarding the implementation of the Ministry of Health’s “Go Paperless” initiative for payment receipts at healthcare institutions.
While I understand the intent to modernise and streamline administrative processes, this measure has inadvertently created difficulties for seniors who may not be digitally savvy or equipped to download electronic documents as proof of medical treatment.
Many pensioners prefer printed receipts to submit claims for medical reimbursement to their former employers. Without a hard copy receipt, they may face challenges in getting their medical expenses reimbursed.
I hope the Ministry of Health can make printed receipts available to seniors upon payment.
This simple step can go a long way in making healthcare services more inclusive and accessible to all segments of our society.
Many seniors already feel disadvantaged owing to their limited digital skills or lack of confidence with technology.
Please do not impose an unnecessary burden on them.
