It was sad to read of Mrs Malar Singam’s case ( ‘No senior should go through this’: Woman, 71, has jaw reconstruction surgery after PMD-related accident
I have seen many cases where riders (all kinds) do not have bells installed or do not use them. If a bell were used, perhaps that accident could have been avoided.
On a few hikes, I have been jolted by groups of cyclists zooming past me without so much as a courtesy ring.
On park connectors at night, I see many cyclists without headlights or tail lights. Coupled with speed and poor lighting, these are accidents waiting to happen.
With more e-bikes, personal mobility devices and bicycles sharing paths with pedestrians, stronger enforcement is needed before another bad accident happens.
