Give viable F&B businesses a fair chance to survive

, Jan 5).

Recognising the challenges faced by our food and beverage (F&B) sector, the Government has been working closely with industry partners such as the Restaurant Association of Singapore and Singapore Productivity Centre (SGPC) in supporting local F&B businesses to improve efficiency and profitability.

Together with SGPC, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) launched the Food Services Productivity Report in October 2025 to help F&B businesses understand their performance relative to industry peers and gain insights on best practices from top-performing operators. To encourage adoption of these best practices, EnterpriseSG rolled out two new initiatives to better support the industry.

The FoodX Programme helps F&B businesses to outsource ingredients and labour-intensive food preparation to third-party central kitchens, allowing them to better manage operational and manpower efficiency in their outlets.

The Process Optimisation Programme helps F&B businesses to enhance their outlet efficiency through technology adoption, and process and menu redesign.

EnterpriseSG also provides financial assistance to F&B companies which are pursuing transformation, internationalisation and digitalisation projects through the Enterprise Development Grant, Market Readiness Assistance Grant and Productivity Solutions Grant respectively.

EnterpriseSG and the Infocomm Media Development Authority have also developed the Food Services Industry Digital Plan to assist F&B companies in identifying digitalisation opportunities that align with their business requirements. This plan includes emerging AI-enabled solutions designed to enhance customer experience, optimise operational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth.

For more information on the programmes and broader industry support, companies can visit their nearest SME centre for business advisory services.
