Israel has not claimed responsibility for the recent assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, the militant Palestinian organisation.
But then, the Jewish state hardly needs to own up to such activities since everything – from the choice of the target to precise knowledge about Haniyeh’s secret movements – had the word “Israel” written all over it.
