SINGAPORE - Voon Shin Yu, 11, has been taking public transport on his own since he was seven.
For a few months in Primary 1, the boy, accompanied by his father, a 37-year-old interior design consultant, took the bus to school, which was three stops from their home in Yishun. After school, he took the school bus home.
