SINGAPORE -When Zhang Zilang transferred to a new school last June after his family moved to a new area, he changed his co-curricular activity to badminton as hockey was not offered at his new school.

This meant the 10-year-old was involved mostly in individual sports and activities - he also played the piano and did taekwondo.
