SINGAPORE - Spanish frozen yogurt chain Llaollao, which closed all its outlets in Singapore at the end of last year, is coming back next month .

It launches its first store at Changi Airport Terminal 2's second floor, next to American doughnut chain Krispy Kreme. Details of the new master franchisee are still under wraps.

In December last year, all 29 Llaollao outlets were taken over by another frozen yogurt brand called Yole Frozen Yogurt, which gets its ingredients from Spain and Italy. This was reportedly a unilateral decision made by the previous franchisee.

Yole is run by D+1 Holdings, which also manages other food and beverage concepts, such as Italian restaurant chain O Mamma Mia and Spanish restaurant Tapas Club at Orchard Central.

On its exit from Singapore, Llaollao was quick to distance itself from the Yole brand and said in a statement on its Facebook page that it was "far from finished" here.

In an interview with The Straits Times in December last year, Llaollao's founder and chief executive officer Pedro Espinosa called Singapore a "key market" and said they were already looking for new locations.

Llaollao opened its first outlet in Marina Square about four years ago to snaking queues for its frozen yogurt, which was served with a choice of toppings ranging from fruit to cereal and a selection of sauces. The craze quickly spread across the island, with frequent lines at its town outlets.
