The announcement earlier this month that five black-and-white bungalows in Rochester Park will house retail and food outlets as part of the new Rochester Commons to be completed late next year was news to many.
They had been occupied by restaurants since 2006 in one of the first food and beverage enclaves housed in colonial buildings outside the city.
