SINGAPORE - The Putien restaurant chain is my default dining destination when I am craving its delicious Putien lor mee filled with pork belly, prawns and clams in a flavourful thick soup. The dish is very different, of course, from the local version of lor mee with a dark starchy gravy and yellow noodles.

It turns out that many of those in foodcourts are under the Xing Hua Lou brand, which runs a casual restaurant in Kovan's Heartland Mall.
