Five key exhibitors pull out of Baselworld
The departures of Rolex, Tudor, Patek Philippe, Chopard and Chanel could be the final nail in the coffin for the world's oldest and largest watch fair

The quintet of exhibitors, including Rolex, cited their displeasure with the refund policies and not being consulted on the new January date for Baselworld as reasons for leaving.

It is a huge blow, and one that could well sound the death knell for the world's oldest and largest watch fair. Like a bolt from the blue, five of Baselworld's biggest exhibitors - Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chopard, Chanel and Tudor - issued a statement on Tuesday announcing their exit from the event.
The quintet will work with the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) - a Swiss organisation that promotes and develops fine watchmaking - to stage their own show in April next year at the Palexpo convention centre in Geneva.
