Victoria Secret's Shanghai show includes six Chinese models

(CHINA DAILY/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will take place in Shanghai in November 2017, marking the first time the ultra-glam annual affair will take place in Asia.

Directed by Hamish Hamilton, a handful of veteran Angels, including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio and Stella Maxwell have confirmed they will show off the latest fashion trend this time in China.

The highlight of this year's show for the Chinese must be the six Chinese models, He Sui, Liu Wen, Xi Mengyao, Ju Xiaowen, Xie Xin and Estelle Chen, a French model of Chinese descent, who will be involved in it, the most to have participated.

On the official website,  it has put forward the slogan, "Ni Hao, Shanghai", or "Hello, Shanghai", saying: "From its iconic skyline to its major fashion cred, China's vibrant, modern metropolis makes the perfect backdrop for the world's sexiest runway."

The new venue reflects the brand's aim to appeal to Chinese consumers, and there are plans to expand in the nation's "fast-growing market," said the official Victoria's Secret website.

Renowned as the "Oscar Awards in fashion circles", the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which will consist of a red-carpet fashion show, model briefings, looks behind the scenes and superstar performances, will be broadcast in more than 190 countries and areas.
