TAIPEI - A video of Singapore singer-songwriter JJ Lin's encounter with a guitar-strumming street busker performing one of his songs in a Taipei mall has gone viral.

The Facebook clip, uploaded by Lin on Friday (Nov 20) morning, has since attracted more than 4.6 million views, and received close to 300,000 likes.

The 34-year-old said he was shopping with his friends at Taipei's Xinyi district on Thursday evening when he heard the familiar strains of his hit single Jiang Nan (River South).

Jiang Nan is one of the songs in Lin's sophomore 2004 album Haven.

In the video, which appeared to be filmed by one of his friends, Lin is seen listening to the busker for a while before joining him for an impromptu performance, as excited passers-by whipped out their phones to capture the moment.
