Taiwanese host Dee Hsu's trademark confidence was on full display as she showered herself with praise at a fashion event this evening.

"I have a new title. Listen to my self introduction. I'm an

international professional superstar," declared Hsu, 37, who is better known as Xiao S.

She was in town for the opening of iROO's store at Raffles City, where about 1,000 fans turned up to catch a glimpse of the vivacious celebrity.

But Hsu admitted to the media on the sidelines that she did experience a bit of self-doubt after quitting the popular long-running talkshow Mr Con & Ms Csi last year. Her co-host Kevin Tsai also quit the show.

She says in Mandarin: "I found out that netizens commented that I must be really free to post so many photos of myself exercising and cooking. They called me unemployed.

"I did panic for a bit. I was worried that my career would go downhill after I quit the talk show. Who knew that I would get plenty of offers? Though I couldn't bear to part with the Mr Con & Ms Csi initially, I'm now raring to take on a new project."

Producers have been reportedly clamouring to get Hsu to host their variety shows.

She has also become a front row fixture at fashion shows for luxury brands such as Gucci, Moschino and Salvatore Ferragamo. The New York Times featured her as one of the rising Asian stars making a splash at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year.

Still, fans are awaiting the day when Hsu reunites with Tsai. There has been talk that she will star in his upcoming directorial movie debut.

The mother of three daughters says: "Kevin's movie project is shrouded in mystery. All I know is that I am the female lead, Lin Chiling will make a cameo and that Kevin will be the director. I don't know who will be my co-star, nor do I know when we will start filming. But there's a good chance that the project will take place."
