In its second season, Sex Education continues to tackle tough topics and send characters on complex journeys

At the outset, the cast and crew of Netflix's Sex Education had no idea they were making a show that would become a phenomenon.

At The Paget Rooms in Penarth, Wales - a historic theatre which serves as the school assembly hall - one of the programme's leads, Ncuti Gatwa, recalls boarding a plane in America on the night the series debuted in early January last year.
