LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight pleaded not guilty Tuesday to murder and attempted murder over a hit-and-run that left one man dead and another in the hospital.

The 49-year-old Knight, who could face life in prison if convicted, also denied two other charges over the hit-and-run incident in Los Angeles last week.

He was ordered to return to court next Monday for a bail review hearing, after his initial US$2 million (S$2.7 million) bail was revoked because he was deemed a flight risk and could intimidate witnesses.

Witnesses told the LA County Sheriff's department that Knight, co-founder of Death Row Records, first argued with the men before allegedly using a red pick-up truck to strike them - backing into one, and then running over both men.
