SINGAPORE - When the Academy Awards are handed out on Feb 24 in Los Angeles (Feb 25 morning in Singapore), viewers in Singapore will not be able to watch it live on television because no broadcaster has stepped up to carry the show.

The cable channel HBO, which screened the Oscars live over the last four editions, has decided not to do so this year. The Straits Times has contacted HBO Asia for more details.
