Local actress Eleanor Lee, 17, takes lead role in anticipated Chinese idol drama

SINGAPORE - Budding Singapore actress Eleanor Lee, 17, has landed a leading role in a China idol drama that will also have a Web and a movie version.

In her first role as a lead actress, she is set to reap as much as $1 million in pay, her mother, TV host Quan Yifeng and her godfather, hair stylist Addy Lee, revealed to Shin Min Daily News in a report published today (Oct 19).

The drama is about seven young women with completely different personalities, said Shin Min.

It is based on the Japanese drama A Restaurant With Many Problems, about seven women who start a restaurant. Written by screenwriter Yuji Sakamoto, it aired last year.


Fans are eagerly anticipating that the new series may become as hot as Chinese director Guo Jingming's Tiny Times series, about four young career women in Shanghai.

Filming has started in Shanghai on the new drama, to air early next year, reported Shin Min.
